BioBit Biobased Bitumen

Description

BioBit, part of the RheoFalt line from Netherlands-based Ventraco Innovation Center, are a sustainable alternative to traditional bitumen, made by blending vegetable resins with natural esters of fatty acid and natural hard bitumen.

These bio-based materials can consist of up to 100% renewable natural raw materials depending on the desired binder properties.

Despite their different chemical composition, BioBit shares similar characteristics with penetration bitumen or PMBs.

Additionally, this type of bitumen can be produced according to more stringent production standards than standard bitumen, making it an eco-friendly choice for various asphalt applications.
