Product Overview
ETHYLEX® 2020 Surface Treatment Starch is a high-performance corn derived starch designed for industrial applications, particularly in the paper and pulp industry. It is known for its excellent viscosity stability over prolonged periods and minimal changes in viscosity due to temperature fluctuations.
Applications
ETHYLEX® 2020 is highly recommended for surface sizing papers due to its superior water holding and film-forming properties.
It is suitable for use at the size press or calender stack, providing papers with enhanced surface strength and hold-out properties.
Additionally, it is used in size press paper coating, offering process advantages such as viscosity stability and improved runnability. It is also beneficial in high-solids, pigment-binder systems for coated paper, contributing to high adhesive strengths and compatibility with latex.
