Biosuccinium™ is a biobased succinic acid produced by Riverdia, a joint venture between DSM and Roquette.

Riverdia’s biobased succinic acid is produced by converting renewable, plant-based resources via a novel low pH yeast process.

Biosuccinium™ offers a renewable alternative to fossil-based succinic acid, a chemical building block used in the production of several key industrial materials, including solvents, resins, pigments, plasticizers, polyols and other chemical intermediates, which are used downstream in several commercial and consumer application areas.

  • Polyester Polyols for Polyurethanes
  • Polybutylene Succinate (PBS)
  • Plasticizers
  • Coating and Composite Resins
  • 1,4 Butanediol (1,4 BDO)
  • Di-methyl Succinate (DMS )
