DextraCel® (Cellulose Nanocrystals)

Supplier: Anomera

Description

DextraCel®, from Anomera, are high-purity Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNC) sustainably harvested from Canadian Forests.

DextraCel® carboxylated-CNC can be supplied as a nano-redispersible powder or liquid suspension, with multiple possibilities for use in industrial and cosmetic applications, including concrete and cement drymix, polymers and composites, paints and coatings, life sciences and medical, agriculture, and cosmetic ingredients.

For example, DextraCel® can improve the cement hydration process to increase the strength, durability and compressive properties of concrete.

Additionally, it can be used as a completely nano-dispersible cellulose additive to modify rheology, enhance abrasion resistance, provide barrier properties, and adjust the mechanical properties of paints and coatings.

In the cosmetic and personal care industry, DextraCel™ has been used to create a microplastic-free, low-energy, and biodegradable alternative for formulating natural, more sustainable personal care and cosmetic products.

The product also provides opportunities for safe cellulosic advanced ingredients, intelligent release systems for drug delivery, and creation of cell scaffolds for tissue engineering.
