QIRA Bio-Based BDO

Supplier: QIRA

Description

QIRA is a bio-based alternative to traditional 1,4-butanediol (BDO).

QIRA is a sustainable and easy-to-implement solution made from renewable feedstocks that dramatically reduces CO2 emissions compared to fossil-based BDO.

QIRA is derived from corn starch, which is converted to glucose and fermented by microorganisms in a novel production process.

As a highly versatile platform chemical, QIRA can be used in a multitude of applications, including spandex fibers, bioplastics (PBS and PBAT), thermoplastic polyesters, and polyurethanes.

From the fashion industry to automotive, packaging, and electronics, the makers of QIRA promote its superior functionality and versatility without compromising sustainability.
